PTI won’t ally with any party in LB polls
Staff Report
LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will participate in the upcoming local bodies elections independently, said Dr Usman Malik, PTI Punjab president, while addressing a press conference on Sunday.
However, for the district and tehsil nazim slots, the PTI could ally with any party except the Pakistan Muslim League (PML), Malik added. The PTI will launch a mass contact campaign from the last week of May to condemn government policies and promote the PTI agenda, he said. The party will also organise workers’ conventions in all provinces, he added.
The PTI leader reiterated a demand for the local bodies elections under the supervision of an impartial election commission. Corruption cases against district nazims and other local bodies members should be forwarded to accountability courts, he concluded.
