CM, governor discuses higher educational matter
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi called on Governor Khalid Maqbool on Saturday at Governor’s House and discussed educational matters with him.
Mr Elahi told the governor that a comprehensive strategy was being formulated to improve the standard of higher education in the province. He said a vice chancellors’ meeting would soon be summoned to discuss ways and means to improve professional education. He said the Punjab government would provide additional resources for the improvement of academic standards, from primary to higher levels.
Mr Maqbool said that universities were playing a significant role in achieving the objectives of higher education. He said the process of social development could only be accelerated through the promotion of education. He said it was essential to undertake international-level research an integral part of the curriculum for higher education. —Staff Report
