NWFP newspapers to get 25pc more ads: MMA
PESHAWAR ‘Implement the Wage Board Award in your newspapers and get 25 percent more advertisements is the offer made by NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani. “We are going to increase allocation for advertisements in the upcoming budget so that newspapers could become financially stable,” said Mr Durrani, while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Media Centre of the provincial Information Department on Saturday.
Mr Durrani said the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) government favoured freedom of press and had displayed this policy. “The MMA government has not issued even a single piece of advice to newspapers since it came into power in 2002 and it will stick to this policy in the future also,” he said. staff report
