LAHORE Rana Muhammad Asim, chairman of the disciplinary committee of the Punjab Bar Council (PBC), has dismissed an application for the cancellation of the licenses of two lawyers, Agha Zafar Iqbal and Jamil Asghar Bhatti. Civil Judge Dr Muhammad Anwar had submitted the application.
The civil judge had lodged a first information report against the two lawyers, which created tension between the lawyers and judicial officers of Lahore.
Mr Asim said the judicial officer could not send the application directly to the PBC. He said a judicial officer could only send an application through the registrar of the Lahore High Court (LHC) or the chief justice. staff report
