India test-fires Brahmos

NEW DELHI: A day ahead of President Pervez Musharraf’s visit, India successfully test-fired an anti-ship version of its Brahmos supersonic cruise missile. “The highlight of this test, carried out in combat mode, was that Brahmos with its warhead was fired from a naval ship and impacted on the target ship accurately, destroying it completely,” said an Indian Defence Ministry statement. It gave no further details of the test-firing, carried out early on Friday. reuters
