PAF awards ceremony held

ISLAMABAD: An investiture ceremony was held at Air Headquarters Chaklala to confer non-operational military awards to officers of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF). Air Chief Marshal Kaleem Saadat, chief of the air staff, was the chief guest. A total of 62 awards were conferred including 21 Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military), 19 Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Military), 1 Imtiazi Sanad and 21 Tamgha-e-Khidmat (Military) Class I, said a press release. According to the Warrant of Institution, the PAF confers military awards twice a year on March 23 and August 14 on behalf of the government. The awards recognise the dedication of officers and Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) who contribute towards improving the overall efficiency of the service.
