PPP out to cause trouble: CM

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said that government had outlawed processions and rallies in the province, especially in Lahore, on the demand of general public and traders who say their life is adversely affected by such activity.

“The Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) and Asif Ali Zardari are not planning a political activity today. Their sole aim is to create chaos and disturb the democratic system as well as the development process in the country, especially Punjab,” the chief minister said, according to a handout.

Elahi said the government’s opponents considered development programmes a threat to their ambitions and were trying to sabotage them, but the government would not allow those elements to succeed. app
