Report sought on equipment used in computerisation of land record

LAHORE: The Lahore nazim Mian Amer Mehmood has directed the deputy district officer (DDO) for Revenue and the district officer (DO) Revenue to present a detailed report of the hardware purchased for computerisation of land revenue.
Mehmood reviewed the performance of the Revenue Department in a meeting at Jinnah Hall on Friday.
Malik Muhammad Bakhsh, DO Revenue, told the meeting that 12 patwaris had been suspended for creating hurdles in providing ownership documents to the people. He said that the records of 35 villages of the city and 156 villages of the cantonment would be computerised by June.
Dr Akhtar Nazir Warraich, EDO Revenue, said that the department had collected Rs 910 million revenue from motor vehicle registration fee. The target was Rs 60 million. He added that 59 percent of the Rs 900 million set as the target for property tax had also been collected.
Mehmood also directed the EDO Revenue to submit proposals for computerisation of the entire record of the motor vehicle branch.
