Landslide kills 28 people in Kazakhstan
ALMATY: Rescue workers on Monday recovered the bodies of four people killed by a landslide in southern Kazakhstan, bringing the death toll to 28 people, including six children, an emergency official said Monday. At least one person remains missing after the landslide that hit early Sunday, following several days of heavy rain in Talgar district, about 20 kilometers (12 miles) east of the commercial capital of Almaty, said Emergencies Agency spokesman Kairzhan Turezhanov. —AP
