Diplomat’s son found dead in hotel
By Ghafar Ali
PESHAWAR: The son of an Algerian diplomat was found dead in a hotel room in Abbottabad on Wednesday.
Saferd Amin booked a room in a hotel, Comfort Inn, on Tuesday night and asked the hotel management to give him a wake-up call at 7am, an employee at the hotel in Abbottabad told Daily Times by phone. “The guest was alone in the room, and when we made his wake-up call in the morning, there was no answer from Mr Amin,” he said. The hotel management called the police who forced the door to the room and found Mr Amin dead, he added.
He said it was suspected that an alcohol overdose killed Mr Amin. “It may have been a suicide,” he said. Mr Amin’s father, when he came to claim the body, refused to talk to the media. The police was also reluctant to divulge any information to journalists and only said they had not yet registered the case.
