Daughter of Multan doctor still held captive

MULTAN: Three children of President Islamic Medical Association (IMA) and Medical Officer of Civil Hospital Multan were kidnapped on Tuesday when they were returning home from their school in their car.

The kidnappers released two minor children and the driver along with the car on Wednesday night. However his daughter Abeera Wali was still missing. The wife of Dr Wali Muhammad Mujahid, a former nazim of Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba and an activist of Jamaat-e-Islami said, “My husband was out of city and my children did not return from school till the evening. I then informed my relatives, administration of the school and police but no clue was found.” She said later however during the night the police traced the car and the driver and two children while her daughter is still missing.

She said they had no enemies and we had forever served the people and never harmed anyone. Police sources said, “Dr Wali’s daughter Abeera 13 sons Aziz Wali 10 and Abdullah 9 were kidnapped their driver when they were returning home. The kidnappers stopped the car and overpowered the driver during the day. They than made the occupants of the car unconscious.

Seetal Mari police found the car at a deserted place in which the driver and two children Abdullah and Aziz were found unconscious while Abeera 13 was missing. Police sources said that it appears to be a case of kidnapping for ransom however, the driver of the car might be helpful in tracing the culprits. —Staff Report
