CDA stern on squatters
ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Wednesday launched a campaign against squatters in the capital’s six sectors and confiscated the property of more than 30 shopkeepers, demolished four rooms and dismantled more than 300 banners that were put up for the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) summit.
The CDA launched its campaign in sectors G-6, G-7, G-8, G-11, I-9, F-10 and F-11. It fined 15 shopkeepers for illegally occupying state land. A Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA) official said they had taken down all banners from the Blue Area and some other sectors. —Staff Report
