ADBP recovery team beaten up

SIALKOT: A recovery team of Agricultural Development Bank of Pakistan (ADBP) visited village Noorpur Kalan to recover the loan from Abdul Hamid. As the team was trying to recover the loan the members of the team: Tasadaq Hussain, Ihsan Ullah and Javed Iqbal were beaten by Anwar, Riaz and their accomplices, said sources on Thursday.

Ihsan Ullah and Javed Iqbal were seriously injured and were admitted to the Tehsil Headquarter Hospital Daska in a critical condition. Police has registered a case.

SAT congratulates UTA president: Sialkot Anjuman-i-Tajran (SAT) President Gulrez Sheikh, General Secretary Haji Jabbar, Senior Vice President Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, vice president Malik Majid, Chief Executive Sheikh Majid, former vice president Sheikh Attique, Chairman Zakat and Usher Committee Hafiz Imran, Dr Mushtaq, advocate Mirza Mussarat Alam Baig and newspaper union member Naveed Anjum has congratulated the President Hafiz Muhammad Javed on his election to the united teachers association (UTA) un-apposed.

One sentenced to life imprisonment: Additional Sessions Judge Mujahid Mustaqeem has sentenced Muhammad Azeem to 14 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 in a narcotics case. In case of nonpayment of fine the accused will br sent to prison for two months. According to the prosecution the police had recovered 1120 grams of heroin and Rs.4000 from the accused.

SNGPL sends inflated bills: Gas consumers protested against Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) for issuing inflated bills, said sources on Thursday. Talking to Daily Times the consumers said they received inflated bills, which were four times more than they used to be.

One of the consumers said, “My monthly bill used to be Rs 250, but this time I received a bill for Rs.1300. However when I went to the SNGPL office for correction of the bill they refused to do so.”

Woman kidnapped: Muhammad Bashir and Ms Naziran kidnapped a married woman, said sources on Thursday. Police has registered a case.

LHC issues notice to former bar president: Lahore High Court Justice Khawaja Muhammad Sharif has issued notice to Sialkot District Bar Association (SDBA) former president advocate Mian Naeemur-Rehman, said sources on Thursday.

Earlier advocate Chaudhry Muhammad Aslam Bajwa had filed an appeal in the High Court (HC) against the decision of Civil Judge and Magistrate Kamran Basharat, in which the court had dismissed the case of his client Maj (r) Awais Aziz Saleemi and acquitted the accused advocate Mian Naeem-ur-Rehman.
