Travel advisories to Pakistan should be reviewed positively: Ishratul Ibad
KARACHI: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad on Monday hoped the travel advisories from US and European countries for Pakistan, especially Karachi, would be reviewed positively.
Meeting US Ambassador to Pakistan Ryan Crocker at Governor’s House, Dr Ibad said that because of liberal investment laws, international investors were interested in the country and positive travel advisories would help ensure their confidence.
The governor hoped the US ambassador would help attract American investors to Karachi and told him that the city’s law and order had improved. Dr Ibad said foreign diplomats, investors and experts were admitting the safer environment after visiting the provincial capital.
The Sindh governor said the province had done the most in the war on terror and law enforcement agencies had worked really hard.
He also told the ambassador about the interest foreign and local investors were showing in the form of joint ventures and consortiums in housing, education, health, tourism and other sectors. He said that a few years ago, investors were thinking about withdrawing from Karachi, but presently multinational organisations and others were expanding their businesses in the city.
The governor reiterated President Pervez Musharraf’s views on regional and international issues. Both also talked about cooperating in health, education, investment and other sectors. app
