Auqaf dept to undertake 195 new projects

LAHORE: The Punjab Auqaf and Religious Affairs Department will undertake 195 development projects at a cost of Rs 174 million during the current fiscal year. An official statement said that Auqaf secretary Javed Iqbal briefed the Punjab Auqaf and Religious Affairs minister Sahibzada Syed Saeedul Hassan on the development schemes on Monday.

The statement said that Rs 40 million would be spent on 13 commercial projects, Rs 23.2 million on relief schemes, Rs 104.8 million on repair and renovation and Rs 5 million on maintenance of historical buildings through the Archaeological Department. The minister directed the projects director to monitor development projects to ensure the quality of raw materials and timely completion.
