University students protest exam schedule
Staff Report
PESHAWAR: Students of the Institute of Business and Management Sciences (IBMS) in the Agricultural University threatened to boycott their upcoming exam if the examination schedule was not changed.
Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, the students said the university administration had announced the exam for December 20, but their courses were not finished due to days lost to vacations and the university’s closure after an armed conflict between two student groups.
They said their courses were expected to be completed by January 17, 2003. They said the university administration should announce the examination schedule after that.
They said if the administration failed to accept their demands, they would challenge the examination schedule in court. “We will resist the examinations according to the current schedule at all costs,” they said. Later, around 300 students and their parents marched towards Governor’s House and dispersed peacefully after lodging their protest.
