Staff Report
KARACHI: The Sindh education department is conducting a written test for 1,091 contract lecturers on Sunday in Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur.
More than 16,000 candidates will be appearing in the test being conducted under the supervision of the Centre for Business Administration at four centres. Two separate centres for male and female candidates have been set up in Sukkur. There will be joint centres for both male and female applicants in Karachi and Hyderabad.
The department has formed four committees of officers to supervise the test at the centres. These include a six-member committee headed by Karim Bakhsh Sirohi, additional secretary (higher secondary) for Karachi, a seven-member committee under Mushtaque Ahmed Qureshi, additional secretary for Hyderabad, a five-member committee led by Sain Dad Solangi, additional secretary (PDF) for Sukkur and a five-member committee for female centre, Sukkur, under Gul Mohammed Hajano, the executive district officer, education Nawabshah.
The CBM has also formed 10 committees consisting of its own staff to monitor the test process. The districts concerned have engaged hundreds of college teachers to work as invigilators. Several candidates had, however, not received their admit cards till Saturday. Such candidates are from interior Sindh also. On the other hand, the department had issued admit cards to some candidates who were overage. The department had set the age limit of 21-35, but admit cards had been issued to candidates of even 40-51 years of age, sources said.
