Six robbers net one million
LAHORE: Robbers deprived Lahorites of cash and other valuables worth around Rs 1 million in six hits on Saturday.
The first incident took place in the factory area police jurisdiction where three robbers looted employees of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). The duty officer of the police station said that the PIA employee, Muhammad Suhail, was going towards Walton Airport in an official vehicle, along with his three colleagues. When their vehicle reached Khaiban Road, three unidentified armed men intercepted them, held them at gunpoint and robbed them of cash worth Rs 2800 and US$ 500 before escaping from the scene.
At Sarwar Road police, two armed men robbed a money exchanger. Police said Attaullah was coming from the duty free shop with Rs 215,000 when two robbers held him at gunpoint, snatched his cash and escaped from the scene. In the third incident, five armed men snatched a car from Muhammad Raza in the factory area police jurisdiction. In the other three incidents, three motorcycles were stolen and snatched from Misri Shah, Shadhra and Green Town police jurisdictions. —Staff Report
