BUCHAREST: Romanian first division club Farul Constanta have sacked their president and sport manager after three of their players were banned for drugs offences.
“President Marcel Lica and sport manager Mircea Crainiciuc were dismissed for failing to meet their tasks,” club owner Gheorghe Bosinceanu told Reuters by telephone from the Black Sea port of Constanta on Wednesday. Bosinceanu said the club doctor had also been warned. Romania’s Professional Soccer League banned midfielders Adrian Senin and Iulian Apostol for six months on Monday after they tested positive for a diuretic. Team mate Mihai Baicu was banned for the same period after admitting supplying them with urine for their tests. reuters
