Asma Jehangir to speak at Harvard

WASHINGTON: Asma Jehangir, lawyer and human rights activist, will speak at Harvard on 17 March on current moves in South Asia to establish peaceful relations and settle existing differences.
Ms Jehangir, who is winner of the Magsaysay Award and Special Rapporteur for the UN Commission on Human Rights, has been invited by the South Asia Initiative of the Asia Center at Harvard. The theme chosen by the Pakistani human rights leader is “A South Asian Peace Process? Obstacles and Opportunities.”
The function will be chaired by Professors Sugata Bose and Homi Bhabha.
