Ibad urges people to maintain discipline
KARACHI: Sindh governor Dr Ishratul Ibad on Friday ensured the citizens of Karachi that both Sindh and city governments have finalised security arrangements for the protection of teams, officials and citizens.
He also urged people and those who will be in the National Stadium Karachi during the match between Pakistan and India cricket teams to maintain discipline and make it clear to the world that Karachi is one of the best cricket-playing venue around the globe.
Talking to newsmen at the Governors House regarding security arrangements for the match, he said alternate traffic routes have been notified while law-enforcing agencies will remain on high alert, especially at and around the National Stadium.
According to him, peaceful holding of first ODI and rest of the series is an opportunity for Pakistan to normalise ties with India which is not possible without participation and cooperation of people.
He said management of cinemas in the city, town administrations, universities and other institutions have made arrangements for live display of ODI on large screens. —PPI
