Pakistanis among 110 migrants arrested in Turkey
ANKARA: Paramilitary police in northwestern Turkey have detained 110 illegal migrants on their way to Western Europe, the Anatolia news agency reported on Monday.
The migrants were detained in separate operations on Saturday and Sunday in Edirne province, which borders Greece, Anatolia said. Authorities found 69 migrants hidden in a truck on its way to Greece. Most of those migrants were Pakistanis. Paramilitary police also detained 41 illegal migrants in operations in two towns in Edirne, Anatolia said. Those migrants included Pakistanis, Georgians, Russians, Moroccans and Algerians. —AP
