Join hands to eradicate poverty: Jethmalani
ISLAMABAD: The Chairman of Indian Kashmir Committee and member of the Rajya Sabha, Ram Jethmalani has urged India and Pakistan to cooperate and root out poverty from the region.
“Setting aside hostility of the last fifty years, we must cooperate to bring an end to poverty, is our message”, the Indian parliamentarian told Radio Tehran.
Jethmalani who is currently visiting Pakistan said an atmosphere of love between India and Pakistan is emerging.
“If we do not take advantage of the occasion, thorny issues will never be solved,” he said
He said, “ We are not each other’s enemy. Our enemies are others. I do not want to name them.” He said the sovereignty of the two countries might be endangered one day if they do not join hands.
“We have brought a message of love. The fighting of the last fifty years has destroyed each other”, he maintained.
On India’s accusation of cross border terrorism he said, it is the job of the politicians to look into the mater. “We respect the steps taken so far. I fully believe in Pakistan’s sincerity”, he added.
Calls on Senate chairman: Indian Kashmir Committee Chairman Ram Jethmalani called on Chairman Senate Mohammedmian Soomro in the Parliament House on Monday.
He was accompanied by the member of national assembly Ishaq Khan Khakwani and MP Bandara. —NNI
