Dutch diplomat returns home in defiance of police orders

ISLAMABAD: An Islamabad-based diplomat from the Netherlands returned home without acquiring the obligatory formal permission from Kohsar Police Station, where a case was registered against him, for critically wounding five people, including two minors in a road accident. The mishap reportedly occurred due to the diplomat’s rash driving. Fasilullah Khan, a resident of sector G-6-1/1, his family and a servant were involved in the accident. The diplomat was reportedly not in his senses at the time of the accident. He reportedly later promised the Kohsar Police Station officials that he would pay damages, but failed to comply with his assurance within the stipulated time. The Dutch embassy in Islamabad had been informed. online
