Lawyer shot dead

PATTOKI: Pattoki Bar Association’s office bearer Advocate Muhammad Asif Iqbal was shot dead here on Tuesday.

The assailant(s) then put his body in his car and pushed it onto the railway tracks near Wan Adda railway crossing, where a train smashed into the car. Apparently, the assailant(s) wanted to show his death as an accident, according to the police. However, the police could not find any clues as to who or why Mr Iqbal was killed. Lawyers vowed to help the police in their investigation. According to the medical report, the assailant(s) shot Mr Iqbal from close range. The body was handed over to the deceased’s family. People including lawyers and members of the Sunni Tehrik condoled with Mr Iqbal’s family. They asked the police to make all efforts in apprehending the assailant(s). —Staff Report
