Couple shot dead during dacoity

SIALKOT: Dacoits shot dead a Christian couple during a robbery on Daska road near village Addha at Mariyam Town (Motra) yesterday.

According to details, six dacoits forcibly entered the house of John Khokhar, a Christian leader, in Mariyam Town. The dacoits on resistance killed John Khokhar and his wife.

On receiving information the District Police Officer (DPO) Sialkot, Shahid Iqbal Ghumman along with a police force reached the spot and surrounded the house. On seeing the police the dacoits opened fire and in the ensuing encounter one dacoit was killed while the remaining escaped from the scene of the crime.

Meanwhile, three dacoits shot dead a gunman of a Rawalpindi bound bus when he put up resistance and then looted the passengers near village Jamhur (Pasrur) coming under the jurisdiction of police station Phlora.The sources said the dacoits intercepted a bus (LSK-7980), which was coming from Shakrgarh .The gunman Ameer Ali opend fire on the dacoits who fired back killing him. The dacoits then started to loot the passengers and then escaped.

In village Kot Kora (Saddar) two armed men shot and injured a motorcyclist Shabbir when they tried to intercept him to snatch his motorbike.

In village Malokey two armed unindentified men snatched a motorcycle (GAC-558) from Faiz-ur-Rehman from civil lines.

Unidentified thieves stole a motorcycle (STJ-5852) of Waqar Ahmed from his house in Pacca Garaha (MuradPur).

Three armed persons snatched a car (ATK-7978) from Kashif and Faisal but on being chased by the police the car snatchers were apprehended along with the car. The police are withholding the names of the car snatchers. Police have registered the cases.
