Efficiency of literacy centres to be enhanced

LAHORE: The efficiency of literacy centres set up by the local government and non-government organisations must be enhanced and bogus centres need to be checked, said District Nazim Mian Amer Mehmood, on Tuesday at Jinnah Hall while attending a progress review meeting.

He directed the executive district officer (EDO) for literacy to check literacy centres and be in touch the NGOs, associated with the centres. The nazim was annoyed by the incorrect marking of a lane on The Mall and directed EDO works and services to complete the marking before the ‘basant’ festival to ensure the smooth flow of traffic.

He asked the town administration and police to submit a report on the unsafe swings in parks. He said swing rides would not be allowed unless the park seeks certification from the University of Engineering and Technology. staff report
