Son kills father over domestic issue

LAHORE: A man killed his father in Kahna area here on Thursday.

Muhammad Ibrahim used to fight with his wife and would often beat her. His sons Muhammad Shahzad, Abdul Shakoor, Abdul Rashid and Muhammad Rafi had several times interfered and stopped their father from doing so. On the day of the incident, Ibrahim started beating his wife over some issue and his son, Muhammad Shahzad, interfered. Ibrahim started beating Shahzad on which he (Shahzad) picked up an axe and hit Ibrahim, killing him instantly and escaped from the scene. On Muhammad Rafi’s complaint, Kahna Police registered a case against Shahzad but has not yet arrested him. Police has sent the body for autopsy.

Car thieves arrested: The Ichra Mujahid Police Squad recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested the car thieves within five minutes of it being lifted, according to a press release issued on Thursday.

The handout said that a Shadman resident, Ali, informed the police emergency line that his (LRD-7078) had been stolen. The Squad arrested the thieves and recovered the vehicle near Darbar Shah Jamal.
