World Cricket Stars to take on Lancashire

Daily Times Report

Old Trafford: The star studded Lashings team descend on Old Trafford on Sunday 18th August for an action packed 45-over fixture against a full Lancashire Team, reported a website.

Lashings have secured the services of some of the biggest names in cricket to play a number of games this summer, including Brian Lara, Jimmy Adams, Sir Viv Richards, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Allan Donald, Shoaib Ahktar and Curtley Ambrose. In fact the full list is such that Lashings Chairman, David Folb, thinks they may have a problem in deciding who to leave out! “Lashings are going to have to drop some of the best players in the world because they will all be wanting to play against Lancashire” he said today.

“Let’s make this clear - this will not just be an exhibition match, we will be coming to win” he added. Having a day’s cricket added is good news for Lancashire Members and supporters after the Lancashire Lightning versus Derbyshire Scorpions Norwich Union League match was re-located to Blackpool.

Geoff Durbin, Lancashire’s Sales and Marketing Manager commented “Not only will there be many of the world’s best cricketers to watch in action, they will also be very accessible to youngsters and sponsors alike for autograph and photograph opportunities. It will be a fantastic occasion and we’re expecting a big turn-out.
