Petition wants CM and governor to wear helmets
Staff Report
LAHORE: MD Tahir advocate filed an application on Saturday seeking directions from the Lahore High Court that the Punjab governor, chief minister and chief secretary wear helmets eight hours a day to experience the sufferings of motorcyclists forced to wear helmets.
Tahir filed the application in his main appeal against the dismissal of his writ petition by the Lahore High Court chief justice.
The petitioner said that wearing helmets during summer caused high blood pressure, nausea and skin diseases. He said that superior courts have held that while passing an order the authorities should keep in mind that the orders should be reasonable, but in the case of helmets, the Punjab authorities did not follow the superior courts’ verdicts.
