India, Pakistan swap another passengers list
NEW DELHI: India has decided to follow Pakistan by maintaining a waiting list of Muzaffarabad-Srinagar bus passengers after realising that only 19 passengers boarded the inaugural bus to Azad Kashmir on Thursday against a quota of 30.
Pakistan had made a list of 43 passengers in advance and got it cleared from Indian authorities.
On Friday, India submitted 119 applications to Pakistan for clearance. Those exceeding the limit of 30 will be accommodated later.
Pakistan also forwarded a list of 50 passengers wanting to travel to Srinagar. The lists were exchanged by the two sides at a meeting at Kaman Bridge near Chakothi.
The Indian side was led by Regional Passport Officer John S Shilshi, the Pakistani side by the Muzaffarabad deputy commissioner. iftikhar gilani
