NAB prepares case against BB

RAWALPINDI: The National Accountability Bureau has prepared a case against former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto for allowing a payment of Rs 70 million to a foreign company for three helicopters and “causing considerable damage to the national exchequer”.

NAB Chairman Lt General Munir Hafeez will file the corruption reference against the former prime minister in the last week of March.

Ms Bhutto is alleged to have received a large commission and kickbacks in the deal. NAB’s Investigation Department said it had completed investigations into the helicopter scandal. —NNI
