Only fraction of disabled children attending school

LAHORE: Only 4,200 of 814,295 disabled children in the province are attending schools, said the Punjab minister for special education Tuesday.

“There is a need to motivate parents to send their children to special education institutions,” said Qudsia Lodhi after a meeting with Michimasa Numata, a senior consultant at the Overseas Project Management Consultants of Japan and Takumi Koida, project adviser to JICA.

The Japanese assured her of their help in promoting the education of special children in Pakistan. —Staff Report
