Businessmen booked in fraud cases

LAHORE: The Sattokatala police registered two cases of fraud against prominent Lahore businesspersons on Tuesday following orders by the court of Additional District Judge Abid Hussain.

An FIR number 96/2005 was registered under sections 420, 467, 468, 471 and 419 of Pakistan Penal Code against Nawabzada Raza Ali Khan Qazalbash, Muhammad Arshad, and the directors of Eden Developers, Mazahir Baigh and Hamad Arshad.

In the FIR the complainant Mian Nisar Elahi stated that Qazalbash had made a deal with him for around 203 kanals and 25 marlas at Rakh Khamba in the Sattokatala police jurisdiction but had not transferred possession. He alleged that later the accused had forged documents and registered a false power of attorney in favour of Hamad Arshad. Second FIR number 97/2005 was registered under sections 420, 467, 468, 471 and 419 of PPC against Begum Afsar Sultan Qazalbash, Anwar Qazalbash, Mazahir Baigh, Hamad Arshad and Muhammad Arshad for fraud in another land deal. staff report
