Police denies link to shooting at professor

NEW DELHI: Indian police on Wednesday denied any involvement in the near-fatal shooting of a Muslim professor freed after being sentenced to death over an attack on India’s parliament that almost triggered a war with Pakistan.

The Supreme Court called the attack on Delhi University lecturer Abdul Rehman Geelani “disturbing” and ordered the police to report to the court on their investigation within a week, the Press Trust of India reported. reuters
