Villagers attack police party

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: villagers in Genjo village on Feberuary1 attacked a police party, hunting for proclaimed offenders.

The police party was offering prayers when local residents overpowered them with iron rods and baton injuring an assistant sub inspector and other policemen. They also took away their weapons.

Police registered a case under Terrorist Act against 32 accused. Police sources said that the tehsil nazim was supporting the accused. Those arrested now have been released.—NNI
