OPF to expand operations
PESHAWAR: The federal and the provincial governments on Sunday agreed to expand the activities of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) in NWFP. The agreement to this effect was reached at a meeting between NWFP Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah and Federal Minister for Labour, Manpower and Overseas Pakistanis Abdus Sattar Lalika at the Governor’s House here. Mr Lalika apprised the governor of the OPF’s activities in the province. He said schools were being established for the children of Pakistani expatriates in Dera Ismail Khan, Hangu, Mansehra and Chakdara and polytechnical colleges were being set up in Peshawar and Swat. He said a housing colony in Peshawar for overseas Pakistanis was also under construction where 900 plots had been allotted to Pakistanis currently abroad. —Staff Report
