Pakistan, China to sign Rly MoU

BEIJING: A memorandum of Understand (MoU) will be signed in Beijing on Tuesday, under which a Chinese company will provide 1,300 freight coaches to Pakistan Railways. A 10-member Pakistani delegation, led by the Railways Minister Ghous Bakhsh Mehr will arrive here on Monday to attend the signing ceremony. The delegation includes Sindh ministers Sohaib Bukhari and Adil Siddique will also attend a ceremony where 26 railway passenger coaches will be shipped to Pakistan.

A senior Chinese official said China would provide technical and financial assistance to Pakistan for modernizing the railways system. During a weeklong visit to China, the railways minister will also discuss help for replacement of the decades old signaling system. —APP
