‘Journalists’ colony will be set up at Harbanspura’
Staff Report
LAHORE: A journalists’ colony would be set up in Harbanspura by retrieving the government land from encroachers, said Mian Amer Mahmood, district nazim, on Tuesday
Addressing a gathering at Harbanspura, the nazim said that the houses of the poor would not be demolished nor would any legal owner be deprived of his property. However, he said that strict operations would continue against encroachments on government land. “Stern action will be taken against those who attacked the government officials and hampered anti-encroachment operation,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Mian Iftikhar, a local nazim, supported the policies of the chief minister and condemned certain opposition leaders for trying to gain political benefits out of this incident.
Earlier, the district nazim visited Mazar-e-Iqbal and laid a floral wreath there. He offered fatiha for the great philosopher poet, Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
