PIA sacks 25 employees

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has removed 25 employees from their services on the eve of the Labour Day.

The PIA’s Islamabad station manager passed their dismissal orders despite the Lahore High Court’s (LHC) decision in their favour. All the sacked employees were regular staff and had been working with the airline for up to 13 years. The LHC had served five notices on the PIA for failing to act on its orders. The victims have appealed to Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali to reinstate them in their services. —NNI
