HBFC launches ‘Shandar Ghar Scheme’

LAHORE: The House Building Finance Corporation (HBFC) on Wednesday announced the launching of ‘Shandar Ghar Scheme, a house repair and renovation scheme, for the city of Lahore, General Manager (GM) Operations of the HBFC Mujahid Zameer told a press conference at the Lahore Press Club.

He said under this scheme anybody could get a loan up to Rs 500,000 to buy building material, fixtures and fittings for extension of rooms, repairs and renovation.

“We will launch the scheme in all major towns in the country in near future,” said GM, Lahore, of HBFC Nadeem Rafi Khan, who was also present on the occasion.

Mr Zameer said the scheme was introduced in Karachi on April 14 and in Lahore on April 30, whereas it would be launched in Islamabad on May 2. The HBFC, he added, had received 257 cases under the scheme in Karachi so far involving Rs 20 million. —Staff Report
