Four killed in road accidents

LAHORE: Four people were killed and four injured in road accidents in the city on Wednesday.

Muhammad Tallat, 18 was run over by a van (LRA-3240) while crossing a road. He died in Jinnah Hospital. Johar Town police has arrested van driver Muhammad Manzoor. A tractor-trolley (880-185-T) hit a motorcycle rickshaw (SLH-8755), killing a woman, Perveen and injuring her husband, Niamat Masih, and three other passengers. One of the injured, an unidentified women, died in Shalimar Hospital.

The tractor driver fled the scene. In Old Anarkali police limits, Muhammad Sharif and his brother Shafiq, on motorbike, were struck by an unidentified vehicle, which then fled. Mr Sharif died in hospital while his brother is in critical condition. —Staff Report
