PCIS reduces small industries’ loan limit

LAHORE: Punjab Industries Minister Muhammad Ajmal Cheema on Wednesday said the Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC) had reduced the loan limit for small industries from Rs 500,000 to Rs 200,000 while the maximum limit of loan would be Rs 5 million.

He said this in a meeting held to discuss loan schemes and setting up of the Export Processing Zone. The meeting was presided over by Minister for State and Export Promotion Bureau Chairman Tariq Ikram. PSIC and EPB authorities also attended the meeting. It was decided that the setting up of EPZs would be accelerated in the Punjab’s and after the conclusion of the Sialkot EPZ, work on the Gujranwala EPZ would start. It was also decided that industry owners would be provided with all necessary facilities in industrial states. —Staff Report
