Police driver kills four daughters

MULTAN: Bahawalpur additional superintendent of police (ASP) driver shot dead his four daughters of different ages on Wednesday.

District Police Officer said, “Allah Ditta, a driver and constable of Bahawalpur ASP shot dead his four daughters Rabia (13), Madeeha (11), Tahira (9) and Javeria (7) and then informed his relatives about the incident. He was an honest, humble and obedient but was mentally upset due to financial matters. He was facing an inquiry regarding the loss of a pistol belonging to the ASP. However his in-laws supported him financially by providing money for the education and clothing of his children.” The neighbours said he quarrelled with his wife when she refused to give him money for his personal use. However his wife left him along with her youngest son to live with her parents while leaving the daughters behind. Police have registered a case against Mr Ditta who could not be arrested. —Staff Report
