Azhar gets millions for Kashmiris

LAHORE: Tehrik Khuddamul Islam (TKI) Ameer Maulana Masood Azhar on Friday was given millions of rupees by businessmen from Lahore’s posh and industrial areas for Kashmiri mujahideen. Maulana Azhar said he would personally deliver the donations to the mujahideen.

“He took four sacks full of rupees with him,” a TKI source told Daily Times. Maulana Azhar delivered a Friday sermon at Jamia Mosque Khalid in Cavalry Ground asked his audience to help the Kashmiri mujahideen. “They deserve your help,” he said. People gave him donations after the Friday sermon. “Your donations are equal to your direct participation in jihad,” Maulana Azhar said. He said jihad was ordered to Muslims in the Quran by the God and no Muslim could deny this. He met with businessmen after the Friday prayers and asked them to give zakat to mujahideen. He also visited the industrial areas of Lahore on Shiekhupura Road and addressed people at an iftar dinner at a factory. Mr Azhar later left for Gujranwala. —Staff Report
