Dhaka plans to host SAARC summit in Feb

DHAKA: Bangladesh plans to host the postponed summit of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) in the first half of February, a minister said on Friday. “If possible we will try to hold the summit between February 7 and 10,” Foreign Minister M Morshed Khan told the private United News of Bangladesh news agency. Bangladeshi Prime Minister Khaleda Zia on Thursday deferred the SAARC summit that had been set for January 9 to 11 in the wake of Sunday’s tsunamis that have killed more than 125,000 people across Asia. afp
