Pervez Khattak requests militants to bring peace
PESHAWAR: Pervez Khattak, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s designated chief minister for Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) assembly has said that his party is ready to “respect” the Taliban, if that is what they want.
“We don’t talk of Talibanisation. We say terrorism is there in the province. We do not know who is behind it. Whosoever is involved in terrorism, we request them that there should be peace in the province. Whatever respect they want we are ready to give them. We are ready to reintegrate them into society,” he said on Saturday.
“We will work together with Mian Nawaz Sharif in federation to eliminate terrorism from the country,” he added.
Responding to a question he said, “we have come here with the agenda to establish peace through dialogue. We are ready to talk to all political forces and concerned people from tribal areas through a jirga or whatever other ways there are,” said Khattak.
About his newly elected team he said, “youth have stood up for bringing about change. The experienced people have not developed the province and they devastated it. These youth will bring change,” he stressed.
“Education stands destroyed. Hospitals stand destroyed. We have bureaucracy like unbridled horse. There is rampant corruption. Nothing is ok. It will endeavour to set-up a role model government,” he claimed. online
