NH&MP starts polio drive

LAHORE: The National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) N-5 Central has started a three-day polio vaccination campaign to assist polio vaccination teams of the Health Department. N-5 Central Zonal Commander DIG Rai Altaf Hussain started the campaign after administering polio drops to children at NH&MP’s Guidance Centre. On his direction, special polio camps have been established at all toll plazas and other places from Lahore to Rahim Yar Khan. NH&MP officers have been deputed on these camps to facilitate polio teams and making sure that polio drops are administered to children. Thousands of children travelling on highways remain unattended during polio vaccination campaigns, according to NH&MP. It said the department was, therefore, working “vigorously to eradicate the menace of polio from Pakistan in collaboration with the Health Department”. app
