JUI-F leader among 11 gunned down in Karachi
* Two policemen and an SBP official among those killed

KARACHI: Unabated violence claimed 11 lives, including those of a Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader, two cops and a State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) employee, here in the metropolis on Thursday.
A local leader of JUI-F was gunned down near Walika Hospital within the precincts of SITE police station. Official said that victim Maulana Abdul Rehman was killed by unidentified pillion riders as he returned home after offering Fajr prayer. Body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities.
In other incident, two policemen were killed at Albela Chowk, Soldier Bazaar within the limits of Soldier Bazaar police station. Official said Munir and Abdul Hafeez were on routine patrol when unidentified pillion riders shot and killed them. Bodies were shifted to ASH and Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities.
In yet another incident, a SBP employee was shot dead at Metroville within the jurisdiction of SITE police station. Naeem was shot while standing outside his house. Body was shifted to CHK for postmortem.
Similarly an activist of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz was killed in Khokhrapar No 3 within the jurisdiction of Khokhrapar police station. Body was moved to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.
Meanwhile, a man was shot dead in a shoe market situated within the limits of Garden police station. Asif, a resident of Usmanabad, was on his way home when unidentified culprits targeted him.
Separately, a woman was killed in Ayub Goth within the limits of Sohrab Goth police station. Her body was shifted to the JPMC for post mortem. Two men were killed in Korangi and Landhi No 6 in separate firing incidents. A bandit was killed near Paradise Bakery within the jurisdiction of Mobina Town police station. SHO Sami Ullah said that police were trying to ascertain his identity. Body was shifted to the ASH for post mortem and later to the morgue for identification.
Meanwhile, a man injured in a firing incident in Petal Gali, Nazimabad succumbed to his injuries while being treated in ASH. The deceased was identified as Naveed.
