Five killed in separate acts of violence
KARACHI: Five men were killed in separate acts of violence here on Friday. In the first incident, a man was gunned down in Kehkashan Society within the limits of Sachal police station.
An official said that two armed pillion riders shot dead Anwar Hussain, 40, son of Nazeer Hussain, who was going somewhere on his vehicle AKF-634.
The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for a postmortem. He said that the deceased had a criminal record and used to work as a property agent. The deceased resided in Gulzar-e- Hijri area. The motive behind the killing was still uncertain. Further investigation was underway.
Separately, a commuter was shot dead in Machhar Colony within the precincts of Docks police station.
According to police, two unidentified armed riders opened indiscriminate fire on a car ADH-160, resultantly, 32-year-old Niaz Khan, son of Abdullah Khan, received multiple bullet wounds and died instantly. The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for an autopsy.The deceased had two marriages and six children. The victim hailed from Bajaur. No case could be registered till filling this report.
Similarly, a man was gunned down near his house in Sohrab Goth within the limits of Sohrab Goth police station.
An official said that Muhammad Saeed, 32, son of Shah Zaman, was sitting near his house when armed riders shot him thrice and fled, resultantly, he breathed his last on the way to the ASH. The deceased was father of two children and hailed from Batgiram. He said that initial investigation revealed that Saeed was killed over a personal enmity.
A watchman was killed near Rabbani Mosque in New Muzafarabad Colony within the limits of Quaidabad police station.
According to police, Shah Nazir, 32, son of Usman Ghani, was on his duty in late hours when unidentified men shot him dead and escaped. The body was brought to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities. The deceased hailed from Swat and worked as watchman.
An alleged bandit was killed while his accomplices managed to flee at Meeranaka, Lyari within the jurisdiction of Sher Shah police station.
According to police, the two armed bandits looted valuables from the commuters. They said that one unidentified commuter opened fire on bandit. Resultantly, one of them, who was identified as Niaz Baloch son of Lal Balcoh, sustained critical bullet injuries and died instantly.
However, his accomplices fled under the cover of firing. The deceased was shifted to CHK for an autopsy. Police found one TT pistol from Baloch’s possession. He said that deceased was residing in Kalakot area and had criminal record.
